Most of what Ransom knows never leaves your iPhone.

The short version
Your alarms, wake history, streaks, settings, and registered mission targets are stored locally. Camera frames are processed live on your device and are not recorded, saved, or transmitted. We do not sell personal information, show ads, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Data stored on your device
Ransom stores alarm times, repeat days, labels, sounds, mission configuration, wake outcomes, streaks, preferences, and registered NFC or barcode targets. A small next-alarm snapshot is shared with the Ransom widget through an Apple App Group. Deleting the app removes local data unless Apple preserves it through a device backup outside Ransom's control.
Camera, NFC, and Family Controls
Camera input is used for rep counting, object recognition, and barcode scanning. Apple's on-device Vision framework processes frames. NFC confirms a registered tag. If enabled and authorized, Family Controls may restrict app removal while a mission is unfinished; Ransom does not use it to inspect which other apps you use.
Apple and Superwall
Apple processes App Store purchases and subscriptions. Ransom never receives payment-card details. Superwall displays onboarding and purchase screens and receives product-interaction events plus technical information such as device model, operating-system version, locale, and app version. Ransom may send anonymous app-state attributes such as alarm count, successful wake count, streak length, theme, and selected mission so a relevant screen can be shown.
Your choices
Camera, NFC, and Family Controls permissions can be changed in iOS Settings. App Store subscriptions can be managed under Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Questions can be sent to support@ransomalarm.com.
Children and changes
Ransom is not directed to children under 13. If this policy changes materially, the date above will be updated and the change will be described in release notes when appropriate.
