Quick answer: For a regular alarm, open Clock → Alarms → +, choose the time, repeat days, label, sound, and snooze duration, then tap Done. For a bedtime and wake routine, use Health → Sleep → Sleep Schedule instead.

Set a regular alarm in Clock

A regular Clock alarm is best for a one-time wake-up, a simple repeating alarm, or any reminder that does not need a complete sleep schedule.

  • Open Clock and tap Alarms.
  • Tap the plus button.
  • Choose the time and repeat days.
  • Choose a sound and confirm it is not set to None.
  • Decide whether Snooze should appear and set its duration.
  • Add a label you will understand while half awake, then tap Done.

Use a Sleep Schedule when bedtime matters too

Apple's Sleep Schedule lives in Health. It can pair a wake-up alarm with a bedtime, sleep goal, Wind Down period, and Sleep Focus. You can make weekday and weekend schedules separately.

Worth knowing: Clock alarms and Health sleep schedules are separate. If two wake times look similar, check both places before assuming you edited the right one.

The 30-second check before bed

Look at the enabled switch, time, AM or PM, repeat days, sound, and Ringtone and Alerts volume. If tomorrow matters, create a short test instead of trusting a configuration you have never heard.

When the standard alarm is enough

Apple's Clock is fast, free, and reliable for people who wake when they hear an alarm. A mission alarm becomes useful when your problem happens after the sound starts—automatic snoozing, dismissing without remembering, or going straight back to bed.
